This is the core event in any free skiing competition. As the name suggests this is a powerful and spectacular competition that embodies the spirit of modern free skiing.

Skiers begin at the 3023m summit of Verbier's famous Mt. Gele and choose their own line of descent down the steep powder off-piste, jumping the cliffs, cornices and rock bands. Each competitor uses the natural features of the peak to ski the most fluid line, stick the most spectacular jumps and demonstrate their own style. The finish is at the Lac d' Vaux area where there will be spectator viewing, hospitality, live music, food and drink and commentary.

All competitors will wear avalanche transceivers, backpacks (containing Probe + Shovel), helmet and back support to maximise their safety.

Competitors will be judged on five essential elements:

  • Line selection
  • Speed/Aggressiveness
  • Control/Technique
  • Style/Fluidity
  • Jump

A panel of international judges accredited by the IFSA will score each competition.
