Welcome to the Verbier Ride winter 08/09 website.
The Verbier Ride 08 (December edition) is a European level pro/am Slope Style event offering athletes over 500 hours of TV airtime and the chance to hang out in the world class resort of Verbier.
The second Verbier Ride this year on the 13th December was an incredible Slope Style event thanks to the resort of Verbier and the team of dedicated park builders and shapers in Verbier’s Swatch Snowpark. The Slope Style course comprised of a Flat-Down box which riders could hit either street style entry or the whole thing, then a Down-Box or a Flat-Down rail, a Step Over kicker in the middle of the course, near the end there was a choice of two kickers or a Launch Curve Box and then a 9 metre Rainbow Rail or S Box to finish.
The level of riding on the day was amazing. 16 year James Woods from the UK took the 1st place title for the men with incredible riding and a double flipping Lincoln Loop. Eveline Bhend from Switzerland took the woman’s title with strong riding and a stomped 720 off the big kicker.
All riders, judges, staff and spectators at the event recognised the Verbier Ride 08 (December edition) as the best Ride Freesport freestyle ski event to date. Watch the action now by clicking the TV screen to the left of the homepage.
Thanks to everybody that took part in the event on the 13th. It was a memorable day and also a memorable night thanks to the Farinet and Casbah after party.
